Commonwealth benefits highly from the help, enthusiasm and energy that interns bring to the studio. We are a research oriented studio with a hands-on relationship to materials and output. We offer exposure and training in cutting-edge design tools within a production environment of really amazing creative projects.
Zoe and I love to keep an energetic, rigorous, yet fun working environment. Wearing full on black is discouraged unless you look fabulous sporting it and have an extremely extroverted personality, of course!
Our next internship period begins June 2010, September 2010. We ask for a commitment of 3 months per season.
Applicants of various backgrounds are encouraged to apply, but preferably with an emphasis on product design or architecture. It is imperative to have at least, computer knowledge with 3D software such as Rhino or Maya to name a few, as well as an interest in technical, experimental drawing and hands on production.
A weird sense of style, a winning personality, and a love of working with wood, machines, metals, prototypes, models etc. is what will make you an instant fit around here.
To help us make a better decision, don't hesitate to send us those nice glossy images, but also let us know what you are really into and what you would like to accomplish while at Cmmnwlth.
You would be a part of a team so if you have an odd specialist interest in a singular aspect of our studio, that's OK. Let us know.
Are your interests broad?
What do you detest?
Would you like to be fully trained in the operation of a 3axis CNC mill?
Who is your design hero?
What's your favorite tool?
Please send a PDF version of your resume and portfolio to
hola [at] commonwealth [dot] nu
We look forward to meeting you.
